The world today is a lot more tolerant and understanding of deviations and what is considered normal behavior in society. However, since such transgender surgery is not only costly but also extensive and irreversible, doctors like to take their time and be fully convinced that the request is for genuine reasons before accepting the task. The decision in most cases is based on a complex gender identity test which, it is believed, can point to the truth.
