Getting Better Viewing With DVDs
Every weekend of the year there are reports about what the top box office movies were, done by calculating the total sales of tickets of each of the movies that are playing all around the country. The movie companies are able to use these weekend reports to quickly see how successful the show will be over the course of many weeks and they can usually get an accurate prediction of the number of DVDs that will eventually be sold after the movie is done running at the theaters.
There is no doubt that Americans do love their movies and many people make their decisions about what they will be doing for their entertainment over the weekend based on the lists of the top movies for the week. And, even with the high cost of ticket prices for the movie theaters these days, millions of people spend the money so that they can see the top box office movies on the big screen.
While the popularity of movie theaters continues to be strong, there are an increasing number of people who are building up their own library of DVDs for home entertainment viewing. Having a good DVD library gives people the freedom to sit back and relax at any time with their favorite movie right in the comfort of their own home.
An increasing number of homes these days are now built with extensive home theater systems that allow people to avoid having to schedule their lives around the movie showtimes at the theater. Instead of buying movie theater tickets, they just buy DVDs of the movies they have grown to love and that they would like to watch over and over again or to share with friends and family members.
