Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

For most people, when they hear the word camp, they picture an adventure in the woods and pitching a tent is usually involved. For instructors and organizers, however, a camp experience is the act of gathering together to learn about a particular subject. A good example of this is the sport camps that abound. The Night of The Prom

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

The long awaited night is almost here and the night of high school proms across the city is quickly approaching, so be sure that you have everything planned for the night of the prom. Make sure that your tuxedo or prom gown is in top shape, including any accessories that may be necessary. Don’t forget to be sure that all of your transportation logistics are planned and ready.

Having a limo to arrive in when you pick up your date is not a necessity for a perfect prom; however, many young people do choose this option. If it is a little too expensive for you then consider sharing the cost with other friends who are taking dates. Make sure that you have arranged for everyone to be picked up and that the company is aware of all destinations throughout the night. Don’t forget that gorgeous corsage that you purchased for your date. The one that matches her prom gown perfectly, remember?

The Karaoke Player

Friday, April 10th, 2009

This year, the Karaoke player was voted the “#1 most irritating invention” in the British Inventors Society poll of 2,500 Brits. “Seeing the karaoke machine at the top of that list made me smile,” admits BIS director Kane Kramer. “When people are singing karaoke they are enjoying themselves, but as a member of the audience you are just watching somebody who can’t perform – and isn’t particularly pleasant to listen to – for as long as you can bear it. It is anti-social. You might have 10 people who want to sing some karaoke, which means 150 people have to suffer it.” Despite the snooty opinion of our overseas cohorts, American Idol has made the karaoke club into a cash cow and spawned an increased demand for at-home karaoke systems.

Karaoke Music Suggestions

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

At the center of any great karaoke party is the karaoke music. The best DJ will have a little of everything in his or her collection, including all the timeless classics. For some strange reason, eighties music has the biggest appeal to amateur singers of any age group. Focusing too heavily on modern artists like Christina Aguilera, Spineshank, Buck Cherry or Kelly Clarkson is bound to doom your show. Instead, load up your collection with lots of Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Culture Club.

The World Of The Karaoke MP3

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

We are still far from having the perfect karaoke MP3 solution. Little by little, with the popularity of “American Idol” and video games like “Karaoke Revolution,” companies are beginning to sell devices that work with iPods to facilitate the downloading-singing process. However, for serious songbirds, an all-in-one karaoke system like The Singing Station is well worth the $149 and it plays every format imaginable.
