Each year, ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract affects millions of Americans and billions of people around the world. Those small tiny internal sores can cause tremendous pain and problems if they are not treated. But that is the problem. Most people go untreated because they never realize they have a stomach ulcer. They may think it is heartburn or simply indigestion. You have to know the signs and symptoms of an ulcer, such as pain before and after eating, in order to find the cure.

The actual process of forming an ulcer is called ulceration. The process can happen to a stomach ulcer or a leg ulcer. The process begins with the inner lining of the gastrointestinal tract or the surface of the skin. After going through that initial layer it makes its way to the sensitive inner tissue. That is when it is officially called an ulcer.

Treatment for a H pylori ulcer is a three fold slam. It starts off with the doctors seeing where the disease is located. It will be a gastric, a stomach, or a duodenal ulcer. They will do this either by an x-ray or by an endoscope. If they do it by an endoscope, then they will perform a small biopsy and test the tissue. If it comes back that the H pylori bacteria is the root cause of the disease, then the doctor will prescribe a triple therapy ulcer treatment. This treatment consists of an antibiotic, such as amoxicillin or metronidazole, a proton pump inhibitor, such as pantoprazole, and clarithromycin.
