Tanning Bed Issues
Skin cancer is not something you want to play with because it is a real danger to your health. Imagine having to have a patch of skin cancer cut off your face. That could change your appearance into something more than just pale from a lack of sunshine. But people ignore the health risks and still go to a tanning bed even though they know it can cause premature aging and injury to their eyes and skin. There are alternatives to baking yourself in a tanning booth.
A tanning bed works by using special lamps that give off ultra violet rays just as the sun does naturally. It essentially damages the skin cells so that they switch their pigmentation. The effect is only temporary, as is any tan, because the body naturally sheds off dead skin cells. These people must continually go back to the tanning salons in order to keep their tan at the level they desire.
It is ironic how most people associate a golden one with youth and vitality, when in actuality it is quite the opposite. Tanning causes irreparable damage to the cells. Over time, the damage reaches the point where the skin itself loses elasticity and becomes like leather. If you have ever seen someone who has tanned most of their lives, you know that they usually look ten years older than they actually are. If you use self tanning lotion, then you can avoid this problem and still get that great tan you always wanted.
