There are many different aspects to the so-called alternative parenting debate, including Christian parenting and gay parenting. All of these notions are somewhat normal in that they share common interests, but most people would find Christian parenting and gay parenting to often be polar opposites merely based on the values that appear to differ. Regardless of the debate, the main focal point of parenting in general is to raise a good child.

One of the biggest aspects involved in the Christian parenting and gay parenting debates are issues primarily concerned with parenting rights. Parenting rights reference the suitability of playing a parental role. Many people protest the parenting rights of homosexuals or Christians because they feel that they will unfairly impose a lifestyle or religious beliefs on the children before the child is old enough to have a choice in the matter.

While Christian parenting and gay parenting may seem to be polar opposites, they are often greeted by opposition in the public arena because of the controversial viewpoints that exist. While on the one hand, Christian parenting detractors vocalize their opinions on the notion that Christian parenting involves teaching children a “mythology” at a very young age without offering choices, they also advocate that this parenting approach traditionally expresses solid value systems in children.
