They get error messages indicating that they do not have sufficient short term memory. So what do they do? They end up buying a new computer rather than just performing a simple memory upgrade on the old computer.

Performing a memory upgrade is not very hard and is a great, inexpensive way to have your computer run much faster and more smooth. You will, however, have to select the right type of memory for your particular needs so you will need to do some asking around or research on the four types of memory. The four types of memory are: SDR SDRAM, DDR SDRAM, DDR2 SDRAM and RDRAM.

Step number two is to go to a discount computer hardware store to purchase your new memory card. You want to upgrade to the highest capacity you can afford.
