Dietary Recommendations

Dietary recommendations seem to be at the forefront of American consciousness. About 39% of women and 21% of men in Western countries have tried to lose weight in the past. Additionally, 24% of women and 8% of men say they are currently “on a diet.” An additional 30% of women and 25% of men add that they aren’t on a diet per say, but they are watching what they eat to avoid weight gain or to maintain their current weight. With all the reports on the link between weight and disease, it’s no wonder!

The Hocus Pocus Homeopathic Remedy

For as much controversy as homeopathic cures receive from the medical community, there is also a great amount of controversy within the homeopathic practitioners community. It seems as if there are new remedies that have traditional homeopath followers up in arms about the treatments. A homeopathic remedy is a solution that is made by diluting a substance with water. That sounds simple enough but there are some who have taken it much farther than just a pill or a tonic to swallow. At times it seems almost to be hocus pocus and magical nonsense.

Am I Diabetic?

The National Health and Nutrition Examination survey revealed that 6.3 million Americans are diabetic and don’t even know it. Moreover, each year these patients with type 2 diabetes run up an $18 billion health bill. Researchers looked at health care use patterns of people for two years leading up to their diagnosis to determine the results. The study also revealed that 4 to 6% of men ages 25 to 64 and 14% of men ages 65 to 69 have undiagnosed diabetes. Medical costs include $2.3 billion for cardiovascular disease, $720 million for hypertension, $443 million for kidney problems and $293 million for neurological afflictions. Perhaps you may be wondering, “Am I in need of diabetes care?”

Skeptical of Homeopathic Remedies?

Childhood Obesity
