What is the history of architecture?

The first examples of architecture come to us from the Neolithic period and were discovered in Southwest Asia. These examples date back to around 10,000 BC. As impressive as these were for historians, most people are more familiar with the architecture styles of the Egyptians and Romans. Early architecture focused more on the elaborate designs to be used in religious worship than they were of the dwellings they lived in day-to day. Some of the world’s greatest feats in architecture can be traced back to religion.
