In fact, many galleries and auction houses place art up on the site and advertise for their auctions there as well. Sometimes, you have to bid and wait, whereas other times you can buy instantly at a fair price.

If you’re looking for an oil painting, then the listings on eBay have a lot of options for contemporary art for sale (from 1950 - Present). Perhaps you might like Thomas Arvid’s oil on canvas masterpiece “Between You And Me,” which depicts a downward view of a wine bottle and glasses. This piece is worth roughly $95,000!

There are other even higher bids on Anthony Falbo’s “The Last Supper,” which is currently at $2 million. Of course, for the frugal shopper, five Egyptian paintings on papyrus can be purchased for just $25 or there are generic oil paintings that may catch your fancy for as little as one cent plus shipping!

Under the photography listings, you can find framed photographs of Marilyn Monroe, autographed Arnold Swartzeneggers, rare Elvis calendars and John Wayne images. There are vintage Elsie Ferguson and Betty Grable photos from the pre-1950s era, or Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol prints.
