At most fairs and craft shows, there is usually a quilt show as well. These shows display beautiful styles of handmade quilts as well as machine quilts. The process of making a quilt is actually quite involved, so to see so many finished ones in one place is impressive. So how does a quilt go from an idea to be being displayed in a show?

Next the blocks need to be sewn together to make the quilt top. After the top is sewn together, then it should be layered together with the batting and backing to begin the quilting process. Then the edges have to be sewn shut, and then the quilting process is ready to be started. This is where the embroidered pattern gets sewn into the quilt, making it sturdier and prettier than just an average blanket. After all these steps have been completed, then the quilt is ready for a quilt show.
A quilt show is held to show off the beautiful and elaborate designs and quilts that people have made. In many cases, these quilts are sold for fundraising, or even for charities. Most fairs and craft shows have a quilters section, because quilting is always a popular event with ladies everywhere. Most people love to walk through a sea of quilts, admiring the beauty and fine work of the quilt artists. The art form of quilting has really changed a lot in recent years with higher levels of technology.
